Dear Peter,

I am writing to thank you for the excellent presentation and workshop with ‘Mokee Joe’ yesterday. It was incredible to see the whole school spellbound for two hours. The morning exceeded our greatest expectations and has set the school buzzing with writing, talk of Mokee Joe, arguments about GA and what they look like (with some fascinating suggestions) but most of all an excitement about reading!

Within minutes of your departure children (and staff) were rushing to read parts of ‘Mokee Joe Is Coming.’ Children of all ages are eagerly reading, exploring the stories, carefully examining the illustrations and writing spooky stories of their own. The impact has been amazing.

Although it is only 24 hours since you left, some children have already produced some really exciting work and we have printed off some of the photographs we took. Year 6 are looking at journalistic writing at the moment so we have some ‘front pages’ and Year 5 have been imagining GA and writing some spooky stories which are currently in draft form.

Thank you once again for such a memorable time. Yesterday will live on in many minds for a very long time.
