Dear Peter,

You may recall that you visited Manor library in Sheffield last December where you gave a talk to our mixed Y5/6 classes as part of the Reading is Fundamental project.

I am enclosing some examples of the work we did the weeks after we met you. The kids thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and we now have a large Mokee Joe display outside our classroom with further examples of poetry that the children wrote alongside some photographs taken with yourself.
It is a great achievement that not only have the children been inspired to write about Mokee Joe but they also feel encouraged to read books for enjoyment in our school.

In my class we have just finished reading the second Mokee Joe book but I have told the children that if they want to find out how the trilogy ends, they need to read the Doomsday Trail on their own!
